October 10, 2008
Its been a very hectic but rewarding few months. My schedule has seen me tour all over Australia. A combination of engagements included youth events, team building activities, business development seminars, leadership camps, motivational presentations for sales teams and top level management, and a keynote for a not for profit organization.

On a personal note. After four years of wearing braces and feeling like a teenager all over again. I finally got them removed. That was a huge relief!

The months of October and November will be some of the most challenging for 2008.

On October 14: I will fly to Mildura, VIC to work with Victorian Police Department and Star FM to host the Sunraysia Drug Forum. I will speak to 1500 teens in two sessions. Then in the evening I will address 200 parents, teachers, business leaders, law enforcement, and politicians.

October 20: I will be in Melbourne, VIC to speak at the annual AFA Finnical conference at the Crown Casino. This event has speakers has other International speakers on the program. http://www.afa.asn.au/profession_afa_national_conference.php

October 22: I will be in New Orleans, Louisiana USA speaking at the annual AGA education conference. This is a major event on the calendar for all the major agriculture giants in the world.  http://www.aem.org/Education/ConfSems/CSC/index.asp

November 4 and 5: I will be speaking in Chicago and Kansas City, USA. At the 20th Birthday Five Star Speakers Showcase speakers extravaganza! http://www.fivestarspeakers.com/speakers-trainers-special-events/live-speakers-showcases.aspx

So as you can see I am very actively extending my circle of influence and learning to adapt my messages so that I can become much more diverse in my field. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you.

Well must get back to some preparation and packing!

I was speaking at a conference on the Central Coast of Australia the other day and one of the delegates told me he couldn’t wait to watch the Olympics which started in less than 7 days. I asked him what his favourite part of the Games was expecting he would say basketball, swimming or track and field. He surprised me when he said he liked to see the opening ceremonies. I laughed and asked if he liked to see the costumes, fireworks and culture experience. He looked at me calmly and said NO! I asked what the attraction was for him. He said he enjoyed the opening ceremony most because it would be the last time that most of the athletes would be able to smile have fun and enjoy the atmosphere. Over the following two weeks there would be a lot of heartache, disappointment, tragedy, and shame. Only a select few athletes will actually win a medal.

I began to think about life. At the end of the day many people go home feeling like they have let themselves down. It pays to remember that just like athletes we have time to prepare for another shot. We have 24 hours to improve our circumstances. It is not how we get knocked down but how we get up to fight another day. As you watch the Olympics keep in mind that the fight is in the preparation and acceptance of the result that determines the outcome of the individual.

2008 has been amazing. I received my CSP award which is one of the highest accomplishments a professional Speaker could possible able aim for. It is internationally recognized and less than 10% of all speakers world wide has this coveted distinction.

On July 4, my wife and I, along with 60 excited guests, celebrated the 21st Birthday of my beautiful and amazing daughter Chanelle. The amazing Armando Hurly led the band and set the scene as we danced to old school music from the late 80’s and 90’s. We had a wonderful evening at the Brisbane Broncos Rugby Union Club and I even got my groove on to current jams like Chris Brown, Pussycat Dolls, and Justin Timberlake! It’s amazing how much dancing takes out of you when you try to keep up with the younger generation!

We were really blessed to have many out of town guests fly in to Brisbane to celebrate with us. Robert Van Houten and Di Allen the founders and directors of Step to the Future www.steptothefuture.com were amongst them.

Scheduled for October 21, 2008 I am travelling to New Orleans, USA to speak at the Annual Agriculture Conference. Following the conference I will be involved in several activities that will help the victims of Katrina at Camp Hope. This is about providing a message that no matter what heartache and pain come your way it’s important to keep hope alive in all that you do and say!

For me, this is what my profession is all about. Giving people a reason to never give up hope on there DREAMS and there belief in the HUMAN spirit.
